I can remember sitting in one of my college nutrition classes writhing in my seat when my professor told me that, "All foods can fit into a healthy diet in moderation."
​
At that point in my life I didn't have 9 years of working in nutrition education, 100's of client success stories, 6 combined degrees and nationally recognized certifications under my belt like I do now.
What I did have was a good 21 years of disordered thinking around food and a potentially undiagnosed case of orthorexia that left me pretty miserable when it came to making food choices. I also had a lot of gut issues, likely due to my lack of nutrition education and a misunderstanding of how to read my body's cues and signals.
I've come a long way since then and it is now my mission to shed light on some of the falsities our culture portrays about what a healthy relationship with food looks like so you can break free form some of the patterns and mindsets I found myself in many years ago.
